Research: 3 Interviews (pdf)
This video illustrates the complicated process of ordering food at a restaurant with diet restrictions, specifically the Paleolithic diet. Very few menus are accommodating for this type of diet since it is grain free, gluten free, dairy free, and as sugar free as possible. This video walks the viewer through what the Paleolithic diet is, which shows how limited it is in terms of what can actually be consumed. Since much of the food in the U.S. is processed, that is what is readily available. I contrasted these two ideas by having realistic cutouts of processed food at the beginning and illustrations at the end. The illustrations allude to the natural and organic food of the Paleolithic diet. This contrasts with the stark cutouts of the processeed food and drinks. I also zoomed into the ingredients being crossed off the menu to show how complicated ordering food is since there is always something in each dish that cannot be eaten.
